The following courses are available at client venues: Emergency Aid/Appointed Persons - 1 day Covers the basics of CPR and associated life-threatening situations. Certificate valid for three years First Aid at Work - 4 days HSE approved course for training of First Aiders. Covers life threatening situations and other common injuries/illnesses. Certificate valid for three years. First Aid at Work Refresher - 2 days Refresher course for renewal of a FAW certificate. Must be undertaken before expiry of the previous certificate. Certificate valid for three years. A.E.D. & Oxygen Administration - 1 day Covers use of an automated, external, defibrillator to re-start the heart following Cardiac Arrest and administration of oxygen as an adjunct to resuscitation. Certificate valid for one year. These two courses can be split and taught separately or attached to any other course. Becoming a standard skill for First Aiders. Manual Handling - people or objects - 1 day Courses are for people/client handling or for object handling (but not both in the same course) and run for 4 or 6 hours. Covers basic Health and Safety matters and demonstrates relevant techniques. Certificate valid for one year. Fire awareness - 1⁄2 day This course is designed to make all your staff aware of how to respond safely to a fire situation, as required under the Fire Precaution (Workplace) Regulations 1999 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Certificate valid for one year. Fire Marshall/Fire Warden - 1 day Designed for staff with designated responsibility as a Fire Marshall or Fire Warden. Covers Fire Awareness, Fire Prevention, Tackling small fires, Duties of the Fire Marshall/Fire Warden. Certificate valid for one year. TAILORED COURSES We take the normal Appointed Person or First Aid at Work as a base and tailor it to the clients requirements whilst still complying with the recommendations. Instead of having a fixed syllabus, this enables us to provide the best possbile content to meet the needs of the students.
